Re: any openings Just walk into Crasher/Gods/Cream etc with your records & tell them 'i wana be the next best thing.i know im good and i want my chance'
Re: any openings Sorry, but first, I'd say get a clue. I know DJs that are a hell of a lot better than 'good', that still aren't 'big' at all. Takes a hell of a lot of hard work, persistency and time. One thing I would recommend is putting your own night on. Does get your name out there a bit, and can be a big help. Otherwise, a lot of stuff is through who you know, not how good you are. Try talking to DJs n stuff when you go out, can help a lot As well as sending mixes to promoters (quarterly or montly), try sending 'em to some DJs too, feedback can be helpful. Good luck
Or produce some good stuff, get it signed and make your name that way. You'll always get djing work of the back of the production. Do it for the love not the fame
Re: any openings no not really!!!! u need to lose the attitude first, who says ya good???, get ya mixes out and let people judge!!!!, then u might get a bit respect from people IF ya mix is any good!!!!
Sometimes its not what u know its who u know ! I would say that i am a good few years off becoming a DJ and have only recently done a Minidisc for me g/f which ill openly admit that i lost a few mixes on it - practise makes perfect really and with me chopping and changing my decks alot in the last 1 1/2 then i have had to get used to them ! With my setup now im more than happy so can only get better which hopefully i will - if i do become a DJ one day then fair enough but if not its still gonna be my hobbie !
Read: How To DJ (Properly) by Frank Broughton and Bill Brewster Do pretty much everything it says, see you in about 10 years.
nah you gotta lose the me me me attitude mate nobody likes it if you read the book ''last night a dj saved my life'' you will understand ive been into dj'ing and dance music since i was 13 im 18 now and im now were near know for being ''great'' you gotta do it for the love of the music man if not you will get no were, and a lot of it comes down to who you know as well
Out of the woodwork... Is everyone from South Shields a DJ now? It must be getting crowded in all the quality record shops, hang on a minute, we dont have any!!! Doh!
