fiats are renound for there clutches, even after not alot of miles....weve knowen customers that have had 3 clutches within a year of owning a NEW fiat..and thats not because they are old biddies(crappy OAP drivers).... also the head gasget is a bugger of a problem to.
F-fix I-it A-again T-2morro wen i was in a car park in me bros punto b4 he sold it i was pulling hand break turns on the ice and loving it i blew the head gasket,
Only done 20k. X reg. Took to dealer this morning, reckons it's a misfire. Two of my mates have had head gasket problems and ended up getting rid of their car.
i had a Fiat Bravo with lots of head gasket problems.... bent the 16 valves once lovely car and i miss it - but i don't miss the problems
If its misfiring, check the power packs to the right hand side of the cylinder block where the distributor and rotor arm normally are. We Had a similar problem recently and it was because one of the power packs had died
we know someone who bought a punto and it needed 3 clutches and a full engine re-build before its warranty even ran out!
my mates clutch went, with some other things... £500 quid bill anyway The only good punto is the Super 1600 Rally version....most of the parts are motorsport made....ie, not by fiat, so it actually works
had the same problem with our old one. only ever seemed to do it when the car was cold. need to be easy on the clutch when it happens.
