    Annoying Phone Calls

My missus keeps getting phone calls off these two numbers to her mobile. One is an 0800 and the other an 0845. If she answers, no one is on the line. If she rings back she just gets an automated message. They have rang 42 times between them in the last weeks.

Its all since she filled in details on some insurance comparison website.

Anyone know a way of stopping these?

Make sure she signs up for the Telephone Preference Service too. Google for it.

I have the same problem with my old tmobile contract. I hardly ever turn the phone on but as soon as I do they ring - 17 missed calls the last time I left it on

I reported it to tmobile but so far they have done nothing

after i used compare the market and confused.com i got loads of calls as well, but i just answered, said i wasnt interested and asked for my number to be deleted from their database, the calls eventually stopped - but if your lass is just getting a dead line i'd get in touch with the insurance providers you used and play war with them!

here's a trick from someone in the telecoms industry:

some telephone systems have voice recognition built in to them. instead of saying hello once or remaining silent because its 'that bloody 0845 number', try saying "hello.. hello?.. hello?"

i had the same thing for the same reasons a while ago.

you'll then get an agent who you can say you're not interested to, et voila.. calls stopped.
