    Announcement: Wax:On Goes National

    Wax:eek:n goes National

As the sun begins to shine and thaw the city out for another summer, Wax:On comes towards the end of its first year at Digital and its second year at the heart of Newcastle’s underground music scene ready to make its mark on the national club circuit.

As of June 2006 Wax:On will become a national touring night with shows confirmed in Leeds, Bristol and of course at Digital in Newcastle. Unfortunately due to our absence for much of the coming months Wax:On at Digital will have to be limited to one show per month whilst we focus on establishing new events in these other key cities… As our flagship night WaxOn at Digital will become a behemoth event with four rooms of music open to all and with line-ups of a magnitude to rival any UK club night.

On a weekly basis the Wax:On residents will also be hosting an intimate gathering at the Other Rooms providing a regular electro breaks fix with cheap entry, knock down drinks offers and regular surprise appearances from the Wax:On DJ roster. This will launch on Friday 5th May.

    UPCOMING DATES:

    FRIDAY 19TH MAY: WAX:ON @ DIGITAL, NEWCASTLE

    FRIDAY 9TH JUNE: WAX:ON @ DIGITAL, NEWCASTLE

SATURDAY 10TH JUNE: WAX:ON @ THE NORTHERN LIGHT, LEEDS

    SATURDAY 24TH JUNE: WAX:ON @ BLOWPOP, BRISTOL

Naturally our APRIL shows remain as advertised with Jeff Mills this Friday and DJ Premier (Gangstarr) and DJ Yoda on the 28th.

We will be announcing our May/June Digital line ups (and Digital will be announcing what will be happening on the remaining Fridays) in the coming days so keep your eyes and ears peeled.

Wax On's going monthly? Fucking awful news, but not surprising. :(

Whats going to be at Digital instead? Are the student night rumours true?

Why would you have a student night at the weekend?

I dont know any proper students who go out at a weekend for fear of getting a kicking/too expensive

the unions get rammed on fridays/saturdays si, the students will go to student nights on a weekend if they're cheap and gonna be full of other students and no charvers, however dunno how well a student night on a weekend would do over the summer break,

i'll be amazed if a clubspace like digital will go down the student weekend route, it has a funktion one soundsystem, state of the art dj booths and was in the top 50 clubs in the world, bit of a waste to put a student night in there on a weekend non?

a big monthly decent hip hop night one friday with maybe live acts and such then a big monthly drum and bass night and maybe a techno monthly do would be better i reckon

Yeah but the Unions are rammed because they all feel safe in their little environment

Older students like us go out at the weekend but how many 18/19 year olds do you know that go out at the weekend cos i dont know many off my course who do (probably cos they're all GAY AS FUCK and are the most BORING CUNTS i have met in my life)

you may say the unions are a safe little environment, but there is usually quite a few of fights like, i think it's just they don't like going places where they're gonna get started on a) just for being students and b) for having a non north east accent, which is fair enough if you ask me
the unions are a good laugh too, really cheap beer/entry (you can go to the union with £15-£20 and get totally wankered and still have enough for a kebab) good male to female ratio everyone is around the same age and all in the same boat

as for the students on your course you doing computing Si of course they are sad as fuck:lol:

no i'm in hysterical crying laughter, to be honest i don't remeber it, it was my 21st and i was hammered, apparently i just went to the end of the table and started dancing and posing and doing stupid things all by myself! :D

it does look like i should have some shopping bags in my hand though, and that thing on my head was not on by choice someone tied it onto my head, it was something off a present

scary movie 4???since when's that released??oh well i dunno, don't reckon it'll be that great really. There's not that much on that i really want to see. Want to see inside man definitely, other than that theres Pink panther but i like the originals so they've prob ruined it by redoing it
