Actives will mean you don't need an amp whats your budget do you want to produce using the speakers as well.

won't be producing just simply for mixing, the setup i have i got as a present a couple of year ago but i'm hopefully moving out soon and just want something a bit smaller. budget is around £200/£250 depending on how much i can get rid of my gear for.

Fidds - are the ones you have good? sound quality etc? are the booth connectors on an 800 the same as the 600?

cheers for the info folks

Aye the ones ive got are really good sound quality like , when i had the house warming party at mine thats all i used nee master speakers or amps or owt.

The booth connectors on the back of the djm600 are normal phono connectors whereas on the 800 they are large headphone type jacks !

Yeah that would be easier than getting cables/convertors etc but he'd end up using them as masters on the djm600 and not booth/monitors which i thought was wot he was after !!
