when buying motherboards stick to brands like ASUS, ABIT and EPOX... dont waste time with things like ASrock, jetway and other budget brands.

a good motherboard and bios shows great performance increases over lesser boards.

when buying a mobo and cpu dont scrimp too much on mobo and additional RAM.. good ram makes a difference too... crucial.com have always been good for ram

If your buying an AMD cpu then PERSONALLY i wouldnt buy any motherboard that DOESNT have an Nvidia Nforce chipset - Ive had sooooo many problems with VIA Based chipset motherboards than ive had hot dinners to put me off them for life.

    IMHO
