when buying motherboards stick to brands like ASUS, ABIT and EPOX... dont waste time with things like ASrock, jetway and other budget brands. a good motherboard and bios shows great performance increases over lesser boards. when buying a mobo and cpu dont scrimp too much on mobo and additional RAM.. good ram makes a difference too... crucial.com have always been good for ram
If your buying an AMD cpu then PERSONALLY i wouldnt buy any motherboard that DOESNT have an Nvidia Nforce chipset - Ive had sooooo many problems with VIA Based chipset motherboards than ive had hot dinners to put me off them for life. IMHO
Before anyone gets anythin from Orbit check out this - www.zyaan.com Cheaper prices all round and they do next day delivery.. Also I find www.aria.co.uk , www.overclockers.co.uk and www.komplett.co.uk good sites.. I was gonna buy a amd 64 fx 51.. decided it was a slightly stupid price though.. gonna get a 3200+ instead..
