yea i know someone who has a calender and there is an aircrash for every day of the year, the majority of them being in the USSR! Airline safety wasn't at the top of the Soviet to do list i'm afraid!
technically no but when you see them in the parks at 9 am with a bottle of vodka it's a little ott imo Pike...before we went to Ruski land we got warned about the russian police...a survey showed 75% were mentally unstabel & shouldn't be allowed guns fills you with confidence
as long as you are very sensible & follow the advice people give you you won't have any problems....take photo copies of your visas & passport. if approached do not give them you're original documentation cos they'll just bribe you so you can get it back if you want to go i'll give you all the info you need...
It was proper genius design from Airbus though to allow the autopilot to be partially switched off without any obvious warnings. (ok there was a blinky light, in a large sea of other blinky lights)
