    advice on nero needed

i just installed a new burner with nero software, ive used nero many a time on my other machine and had no problems. However on this machine, when i try to cut my cd into track in the properties ,index, splits ect, it begins to hang forever and then not respond.

im not sure whats causing it, is it my hardware, software or other?

its doing my head in now, i just want to cut this cd:evil:

upgrade your burners firmware and drivers then get latest nero

It sounds like it may be a software problem.

If you have Sound Forge or another sound editing program, it is possible to cut up your tracks there, if you can, try using that to cut it up and then export it into .wav files (read juski's guide on how to do this here)

If that doesn't work I'd imagine the problem may lie with your version of nero - try getting a new one from download.com.

If you have norton utilities on your machine, run Windoctor to make sure you're not missing any system files or anything vital.
