Ableton anyone got any good links to any guides. avent looked at ableton for ages now and cant work it. need some help on warping tracks.
www.abletonlivedj.com Everything you need is on this site. Theres tutorials on all the basics and there all really easy to follow. You have to register though but it only takes 5 minutes.
*Load the file *Set the 1 Marker to the first beat of the track *Right click on the 1 Marker and click Warp Straight From Here boom all done might need to make a few adjustments along the way but thats pretty much it for 4/4 dance music
My understanding is that you have to set every warpmarker to the start of every beat. Is this right. Plus which is the first warp marker.?? How do i move and individual marker without moving the rest
You VERY RARELY have to do that and only really when you are doing no dance stuff (reggae/indie/soul etc) The first marker is the one that is green which will be near the start of the track Honestly just set that first marker to to the start of the music and right click and do the above plus always set the Warp Method to COMPLEX
Somebody else said this on another board and i dont personally think it works. I have followed exactly what you said, but nothing happens. It noemally takes me a round 20 mins or so to warp a track and i end up having 6 - 15 warp markers in there.
Works perfectly when ive got my laptop near the internet ill post up some screen shots it used to take me ages to warp tracks but now it takes about 30 seconds Dan - Repitch? I cant remember off the top of my head
Ive got a warping guide that i got sent a while ago its in PDF format so post your email address and ill forward it on
Ive seen warping guides etc and have tried what you said, but nothing happens. 30 secs to warp a track? surely that cant be possible?
its true Set the first marker to the start of the track Right click on that marker and choose Warp Straight From Here Probably need to make minor adjustments as you go along but nothing drastic WARNING - if you are recording vinyl into Wav/MP3 then it will be much harder to warp because of the way turntables skew the tracks
same Im back on the 2nd Feb so Ill be in Shields during that weekdnd so Ill pop round if you havent sorted it Infact, just sort a Sound Sessions special event for the saturday
Nice 1 Si cheers. Im managing to warp tracks no probs, just not that quick and im getting faster and faster with practice. Your way sounds better though. You sort it iut, you had more of a say in the night than me. You played more times
I only ever use about 4 warp markers. One at the start of the track (normally the first beat), one as close to the end of the track as possible and a marker at the first beat after every break down. This takes me about 30-40 seconds. Sometimes even less! For vinyl rips i put a warp marker once every 4 bars! People keep saying this is too much but im convinced one of my decks loses its pitch constantly (is it true you can get the motor configured or something?) Warping is a bit like beatmatching - everyone has different ways.
