A question for supporters of NUFC

What would you think personally if Alan Shearer came back as manager close season, after what Hughton has done this year?

i'd rather hughton stayed on. this season i'd say he has earned the right to have a shot at the premiership. Dont you agree?

its the type of thing the club would do in order to keep its status as the biggest joke in football, sack a bloke who has worked a minor miracle and replace him with a "rookie" manager who is almost certain to clash with the owners within a few weeks.

    i'd be gutted like.

what would you do Pike if yous sakced brucey and brought super ricky sbragia back? lol

You got to keep CH. He may well be the next Mala Crosby, Roeder or that big nose fella from Happy Days who was in charge of SAFC last season but like them chaps he has earned the gig.

Personally I don't want to hear the word shearer mentioned round sjp for a very long time. He's like a shadow hanging over every possible manager thanks to a few blindly loyal fans who think the sun shines out of his arse.

Houghten. We've missed stability at the club for so long it would be stupid to rock the boat.

IF Hughton stays what quality of player will you be able to attract? Robbie Earnshaws signed a new long term deal

He hasnt got any pull at all, he will be offered a job upsairs but will walk out.

The Gift that keeps on giving is not about to fail me now.

I fully expect another of the most enjoyable years of my life in 2010/11 when it comes to happenings at The Sports Direct Dot Com Staudium.

It all depends how much money is invested, hopefully we will stick with buying young talent (Routledge) rather than reverting to purchasing old has beens (Nicky Butt)

tbh pike i dont think we'll have much trouble attracting players. weve been promoted after being 1st all season just about, with 5 games remaining, fair enough hughton isnt a 'proven' manager but i think his actions this season speak louder than anything else. We are still NUFC and will always have a bigger attraction to players than say Hull or Wigan.

The only thing that could hinder us in terms of transfers is the supposed poilicy of signing decent young under 26's on year long contracts. Whether theres any truth in this policy i really dont know, but if it does exist we could do with getting rid of it for next season.

A good point was made on the radio today. NUFC almost cheated playing the championship. That Dozy Argentina defender whos name escapes me cos hes so shite is on a higher weekly wage than Notts Forests entire squad. A Blind seabass could have got promotion with that squad of players it wasnt exactly Van Gaal and South Korea was it.

Even so, it can hardly be called cheating. Guttierez nor collocini justified their wages fir best part if the season anyway.

That means fuck all. We had a higher wage bill than most teams in the Premier League last season and we were still one of 3 teams to go down. The fact of the matter is players that were very average even in cup matches against lower league teams last season have pulled themselves together and players that never gave a fuck have been shown the door. You can harp on about the wages, quality of opposition etc.. all you want and I know the real task is surviving next season, but nee one can give the Toon grief for being optimistic. Fucking hell, Sunderland are forgetting they have been in a similar position (ie. To shit for PL/to good for Championship). Let us get on with our job and show more concern for your own team (or in the case of Pike -teams).

And where would you put your own team in all this?
You's have the most expensive Keeper in the Premiership & have spent (roughly) £130 million in 3 years, looking to extend that this season by another £30 million if you manage to coup Simone Pepe & Cristian Riveros, so your looking at about £160 million going into next season. You's finished 3 points above relegation in 2008, 2 points above relegation last season & only narrowly escaped it this season by turning a few games round the latter half of the campaign, the Club is YET to have a top 10 finish in the 3 years you've been in the Premiship?
