7 months for Mutu The FA have given Adrian Mutu an 7 month suppension and order him to attend rehab. IMO this sounds about right as it wasnt a performance enhancing drug
Re: 7 months for Mutu Absolutely disgusting verdict. How can you ban Rio for 8 months for missing a drugs test when the FA accepted the results of his tests showing he was clean yet ban a drugs cheat, recreational or not, for a lesser period??? Sends out totally the wrong message, do what you like & get a slap on the wrists. Same as Edgar Davids, Japp Stam etc getting caught for steroids. Davids got 2 years (reduced to 3 months on appeal) & Stam got 6 (if memory serves me right...!) If this was any other sport, they'd have been banned for years. Shows how inconsistent the FA is at punishing players.
Fuck anything to do with that fucking lizard looking **** Ferdinand ! Mutu admitted what he did and accepted the punishment, Ferdinand knew he was in the wrong and missed the test I think its about right in all fairness, he said he only took the drugs to make him a better shag anyways - fair play See where he ends up anyways, he is a class act on his day !
So you think that someone who was caught with drugs in their system, performance enhancing or not, should be given a lighter sentance then someone who admitted forgetting his test & proved (& was accepted by the FA) that he had not used any substance? Ferdinand appealed at the length of the ban as well as the guilty verdict. Compare his sanctions to that of the Man City player (name escapes me...) who missed his test under similar circumstances yet only received a fine (about £2k I think) and no ban. Yes, Ferdinand was stupid to forget, but Mutu knew the risks & willingly took drugs. Would you be taking this approach if it was Nandralone in his system instead of toot? :spangled:
Re: Re: 7 months for Mutu The FA could never of given Mutu a larger ban than Ferdinand cos if they did it would send out a message to other footballers doing toot that they might as well just miss a drugs test and get a lesser ban than if they took the test and got caught.
I think the money these people are on is enough of a reason NOT to neck/snort anything at all and imo if they do they should be banned from professional football forever no ifs or buts. They dont know how lucky they are most of them.
Re: Re: Re: 7 months for Mutu Of course they could!!! They were talking about giving Rio a 2 year ban when he first missed the test. He took the standard p!ss test within 48hrs which was clear & also a hair follicle test soon after. The FA accepted he had never used drugs, this was never a contentious issue. I can kind of see your point in so much as ban them for a long time if they missed a test & refused to take another within an allotted time frame (eg. 36-48 hrs), but if they genuinely forget to attend (out of stupidity!) and take (and pass) a rescheduled test, they should not be punished as severely (or worse) than someone who gets caught out willingly knowing the risks of substance abuse. I would treat someone who took drugs (performance enhancing or otherwise) and were caught out a hell of a lot harsher than someone who simply missed the test (for whatever reason) and it is accepted that they never touched anything. If, however, they "avoided" the test and eithre refused or failed a re-test, then throw the book at them, point taken on that one.
