    5th May - Kutski, JP&Jukesy, 12" Thumpers etc...

The Pleasure Gardens - a charity event

“A fantastical concoction of light and sound, with all manner of sensory delights and
    gratifications…”

On Friday the 5th May 2006, GardenAfrica creates a brand new club night – a 21st Pleasure Garden – at fashionable London club, Sin from 10pm ‘til 7am. An evening full of breath-taking beauty and aural delights, not to be missed.

All proceeds from The Pleasure Garden @ Sin will support GardenAfrica’s development programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.

On offer: Hard Dance and the Funkiest of House in an exotic ‘garden’ setting… It is our absolute pleasure to confirm a whole host of DJs who have each so generously offered GardenAfrica their own special kind of service.

The Ballroom will treat us all to some of the finest Hard House DJs currently on the circuit:

    Kutski (Radio 1),
    Colin Barratt (Tidy),
    Matt Pickup (Frantic),
Digital Kid vs Chris Hoff (Tidy),
    12” Thumpers,
    JP & Jukesy (Deprivation Recordings),
    Strange Dave (B2T),
Dr. Duzzit B2B Mickey Fallout (Extreme Euphoria). See notes below for further information.

In the Funky House room, the aural pleasure continues with Housexy DJs Richard Murray, Tom Murgatroyd and MYSOUL. Having begun to establish itself as the name with the hottest cuts likely to cause a stampede to any dance floor, Housexy is currently spreading its quality sounds through residencies in the UK & abroad – and continues to grow with this unique event as a dead cert to get hips swinging and people talking.

Advance tickets on sale from Saturday 25th March at £12 each incl booking fee; £15 on the door. For tickets & information, visit www.pleasure-garden.co.uk or call 08702 43 23 46.

GardenAfrica (www.gardenafrica.org.uk) is a non-governmental organisation that creates & supports a wide ranging programme of garden-related developments across sub-Saharan Africa aimed at overcoming poverty, disease, and malnutrition – ‘the silent emergency’ that kills millions every year.

GardenAfrica’s current campaign, launching at the 2006 Chelsea Flower Show, is to create 1,001 gardens in targeted countries over the next three years. On completion, they can propagate well over 500,000 new gardens within five years. The show-garden at Chelsea will offer a unique opportunity to see for the first time the type of gardens GardenAfrica creates.

Pleasure Gardens have existed for centuries and were long regarded as dangerous and disreputable places. Over time they transformed into exotic settings for lavish events and parties, eventually becoming an essential part of London's fashionable night-life… But pleasure gardens never quite lost their racy reputation, which by all accounts, was richly deserved!

    DJ info:

    Kutski – Radio 1
Chosen by the BBC as the first DJ ever to hold a Residency soley dedicated to Hard Dance on Radio 1, Kutksi will be scratching and juggling his way through his un-usual and un-predictable but definitely banging set.

    Colin Barratt – Tidy
Both a productions legend and excellent DJ, Colin will be gracing the decks with his unique blend of the hard stuff.

    Matt Pickup – Frantic
This man’s no stranger to London, having taken Frantic by storm with his blend of Filthy Energetic Hard House / Techno.

Digital Kid vs Chris Hoff – Tidy
With their productions storming to the top of the DJ charts across the country, these lads are certainly no strangers to the scene.

    12” Thumpers
Needing no introductions, the label is one of the few to have over 100 releases to their name. The boys have been on the circuit now for many years, and it is no surprise their popularity remains as strong as ever.

JP & Jukesy – Deprivation Recordings
Having established themselves both as quality versatile DJs and pioneering producers on the Hard Dance scene, the lads are closing in on their plans for world domination.

    Strange Dave – B2T
Known throughout clubland for his promotions as well as his prowess behind the decks, the Strange One will be bringing his unique up-front style to the party.

Dr. Duzzit B2B Mickey Fallout – Extreme Euphoria
These boys are no strangers to the Hard Dance London scene and will be bringing their own special style and NRG to the evening.

Richard Murray, Tom Murgatroyd and MYSOUL
Spinning cuts from the likes of David Morales, Mish Mash and Haji & Emanuel, the soulful sounds will offer revellers a decadent environment where hip swinging and glamour will go hand in hand.

Fast becoming the brand name to drop on the vocal house scene, the Housexy Spring 06 release is already helping to kick away the winter blues with the current UK and International tour blazing up dance floors. Housexy Spring 06 is out now on Ministry of Sound. Join the housewarming: www.housexy.com
