theyve been out for ages, the 260, might just be a bad batch of disks, unless theres too much tension on the disc from the stabilizer

If you mov the console from flat to upright or vice versa with a disk in, it ruins the disks completely apparently- has been known to nearly snap some in half when the console first came out. If not, then you've got a faulty drive and need to replace the console

Got to send mine back to microsoft

Got through to a call centre and she is adamant that the only way the disc could be scratching is if i am moving the console while playing games WTF.

Why would i be moving the console while playing a fucking game FFS

There going to repair it, but its gonna be 15 working days before i get it back :(

And its tough shit about the 3 games thats been ruined by scratches

Its my fault for moving the console while playing games

That happened to my first 360, they tried to send it off to get fixed.

I just mentioned the words 'consumer purchase laws' and 'goods not fit for the purpose they were sold for' and i soon got a refund.

Don't want to fuel the PS3v360 debate  but aren't there a few problems arising with the 360.

THere were a lot of problems with 360 initially but they all seemed to get sorted in the first few months of release. the one with the console scratchingcracking games was meant to be fixed after the first batch. I've had mine since february and I've had no bother at all with it. did the roiginal xbox not have a similar issue as well when it first launched in japan?

all products, whether it's software, cars, toasters, plasma tellies all have initial release problems - no matter how much beta testing you do - things slip thru the net - after all they're made by humans which are inherantly flawed

I love plasystation but past experience suggests they'll hash up the release. I'll be getting a ps3 aswell as my 360
