30/01/10 :: RAMADANMAN, PANGAEA, BEN UFO, FUNK ETHICS @ THE OTHER ROOMS

Heavy Weight roll into a new decade armed with a fine selection from the "Hessle Audio" camp, namely
    RAMADANMAN

    PANGAEA

    BEN UFO

Hessle Audio’s emphasis on quality control has earned them a high status within the electronic music community and a residency at the Mecca that is Fabric as well as guest mixes on many a platform such as Radio BBC 1's Marry Anne Hobbs show + Gilles Peterson's Worldwide, Internet based radio SubFM, Rinse FM, Fact Magazine, Resident Advisor and most recently Tempa's Dubstep All star mix series.

Releases from Ramadanman, Pangaea and their label have varied from dubstep anthems to minimal percussive work outs such as Ramadanman’s Blimey E.P and have got them attention from dj's outside of the dubstep loops, Nic Fanciulli's Global Underground mix being good example of a long long list.

Shows from the Hessle camp are far from predictable or one dimensional, sets effortlessly switch from their own signature techno/dubstep sound to deep house and UK funky rhythms through to big dance floor anthems however the quality always remains.

Supporting the above will be our very own.

    FUNK ETHICS

I cant be arsed to write too much about him because I big him up enough but this is what someone who reviews records said about his last release.....

"Seriously smooth, but packing a kick like a mule, Blues is Now is a real mother for ya, and if you look you will discover. Electro elements run seamlessly into jazz funk, dub keys over broke beats a sick thud of a bad bass and that crossroads vocal, swimming over atmospheres of vox pads somewhere. Very intoxicating, with a feel like soul voodoo, a strung out master dictating the step.
Gotta love the stop start flow of this thing, and that sax drifting through like a lost spirit…. splendid stuff, intelligent yet visceral, it will get you thinking and moving. Coming over well thought out and professional, yet maintaining an undercurrent of immediacy and a little darkness. A different colour than your run of the mill dubstep offering, Blues makes my top three like God made little green apples"
