I'm considering buying a 1210 just to teach myself how to scratch, dont like it on the CDJs.

Av had a go on both & prefer the sound & feel with the vinyl rather than the jog wheel, I'm not saying its easy just prefer using vinyl for it.

Its easier on cdjs like, but feels & sounds better on vinyl, ive the eddie samples for the cdj like, no good without a perfectly good working CF

most modern day scratch techniques are defined by the movement of the cross fader

flares, crabs, transformers, even the new combos like auto bahn's are defined by how many times you adjust the mixer

you could make a card board box midi controller and do the same things as with a 1210

the deck, no matter what it is, simply moves back and forward, and the fader defines the characteristics of those movements
