Did they not mean they've grown out of going clubbing two nights a week and taking loads of drugs?
Alot of people only listen to dance music when they're going out and getting "wrecked", so maybe that's what they meant. :spangled:

Music changes and so do peoples tastes.

Most of the people that were cyber kids on here are now cool electro house cats.

Maybe it says alot about trance, in that it's had it's day.

It going the opposite way for me, a lad who I've been mate with since school has just started getting into dance music and coming clubbing with me at 23. After leaving school we lost touch aboit because he was going out to indie gigs and festivals like leeds and glasto. Recently hes been with me to detox, evolve and shindig

I'll take the dance music scene over any other 'scene' any day of the week.

Who would ever want to grow out of that :)

Innit, the only thing this shows is that some people are never really into it in the first place.

I think that some people just feel some kind of urge/pressure to settle into a more conventional lifestyle, which for a lot of people they realise it just isn't for them at all.

Minority rules. The majority of peole you ever meet are shit anyway imo.

Its entirely possible to mix the dance scene with a conventional lifestyle ... you just have to make sure you give yourself the entire of saturday and sunday to get over the late nights on friday, and wear dark glasses and dont speak to anyone on the monday at work :p

I'd disagree, I've always been 'into it' but just because I don't shout it from the rooftops by going out every weekend anymore or knowing every DJ and every band around, bears very little relation to how into music I am.

In fact, I find the overly knowledgeable dj/band geeks are more often than not, desperate pretenders over anything else, trying to portray some deluded superiority by listing reams of djs / band names they've know longer than you have and generally having no patter outside of music...

People move on because they see and hear new things, which is the reason they got into dance / indie in the first place, not necessarily because they want to buy a Barrat house and play 2.4 children..

I think we are talking about a different type of person here then.

I'm not talking about people who tone it down but can still accept a good night when they experience one, keep in touch with old mates and are still slightly in touch with stuff.

There are a lot of people though who suddenly fuck it all off (mainly because they get over pills) and get all cynical saying it's shit, cutting off all the ties and dismissing all the music as crap. All about moderation and rotation if you ask me.

That said - and I hate to mention this again for fear of repeating myself, but I still fear I shouldn't have said your face went green that winters day on the swing bridge.

Yeah, but it's not as if you'd go round telling anyone who did love it now it's a pile of shite though. Well you probably would, but you know.

My comment was in reference to the ""a can't believe you still listen to this shit" remark" concerning a John Askew CD. Subjective innit - cynyical cunts.

and yes I am a hypocrite.
