    From what i've read about it - its a load of bollocks for the following reasons.

    1. the date the mayan calendar switched over, happened BEFORE 2012, so we are already in the next 'age'. It was miscalculated by the mainstream and they hit upon the current 2012 date.

    2. the 'end of the age' as the mayans call it, wasnt a reference to the end of the world as most people have latched onto, but rather it was a change from the age of aquarius, into the age of pices, which represents a new age of thinking/actions/stuff/etc as opposed to some kind of apocalypse.

    Personally i think theres some truth in the whole changing of the ages aspect of it all. This century will be ALOT different to the last one, and indeed for a very long time. Its hard to see things on a day by day basis - but i think if you went back 100 years and spent some time then, it would feel a whole lot different (apart from the obvious technological advances and the like ...).

    had a quick look at planet x, what he says about the difference in us and our closest primate relatives is true. I think its highly unlikely we evolved as we are so different from them. Theres definitaly a missing link.

    the DNA quote is very interesting too about how the genes must have been alterered. Ill speak to our lass who has studied Gene biology.

    Having got an "A" at A-level Geology (sad i know!) i thought you's might be interested in this [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_reversal[/ame]

    Basically, people have flown over mid ocean ridges (primarily the atlantic MOR) caused by two tectonic plates moving apart at what is called a contructive plate boundary with devices to measure the alignment of the magnetic crystals in the sea bed radiating away from the ridge.
    The black and white areas represent -ve and +ve readings. These are caused when the magnetic minerals in the rock cooled aligned to the poles position at the time. The readings are symetrical on either side of the MOR.
    as you can see it takes literally the best part of 1,000,000 years in some cases for the poles to invert meaning we do not have anything to worry about in that respect over the next two years.

    I think there's alot of truth in this, although in 2012 it's been said that we'll have moved TO the Aquarian Age.

    The Age of Aquarius is believed to be "The age of enlightenment".

    This ties in very well with something called "The Venus Project" that's meant to be the world's savior. For those of you who've never heard of it;
