    1TB >> 1TB Back Up

I want to back up my 1TB Ex HD.

I want to copy the content of the HD direct to the BACKUP HD, is it possible to do this without going back onto my laptops HD or does it have to transfer to there first?

I want something set up that creates a "image" of the origianl HD so when its connected to the BACKUP HD it "sees" whats new and backs it up auto

    Thank you please

2 drive NAS bay. makes all your files etc avaliable over a network in your home. The second drive mirrors what's on the first drive so you have a back up off it. Then should the main drrive fail it takes over from it straight away as the main drive then you just replace the failed drive with a new one.

Not sure how you'd go about copying everything from 1tb fdrive to another 1tb external though without having to go down the nas drive rout and having it all networked.

    *Edit*

Would you not be able to just buy another external drive plug them both into your laptop then copy everything from say G: Drive to H: Drive ?

With two external you could just try plugging them into the laptop then copying everytyhign off the full one to the empty one. You can get stuff off a external straight to a pen drive if both are connected so should work that way.

The NAS drive is expensive but if your worried about drives failing it's worth it as everything you download goes to the NAS drives so keep your storage on your desktop/laptop free as any PC in the house that's networked to it can access everything on the drive and everything downloaded gets copied to the 2nd drive.
