    17.10.09 Road to Rimini@Star&Shadow with Rude66

As the autumnal cold and drizzle replaces the cold and drizzle of summer, the
Fratelli Di Rimini will once again be opening the doors of the Star & Shadow
Cinema to all friends, lovers, brothers and mothers of thee infinite beat.

Perhaps showcasing our most eclectic line-up to date, October’s Road To
Rimini will feature the best of local, national and international electronica from
the past, the present and the future.

Some say Emergency Librarian were created in the labs of the BBC
Radiophonic Workshop by Delia Derbyshire and Ron Grainer and transported
into the future by Patrick ‘GamesMaster’ Moore… others say they’re a couple
of lads from Whitley Bay… whatever the truth their futuristic take on the
sounds of the early electronic pioneers will be oscillating the air waves of the
cinema on the night of the 17th.

Following on in the cinema, spinning the rarest discs and manipulating the
knobs of his rotary mixer like his life depended on it, will be County Durham’s
deadliest disco deviant – deejay Tadge.

Opening the proceedings in the main room will be Brighton’s Oppenheimer
Analysis. Formed in 1980 and releasing a couple of cassette only releases
Oppenheimer Analysis lay dormant until the ever excellent Minimal Wave
label chose four cuts from the 1982 ‘New Mexico’ cassette as their initial vinyl
release in 2005. The critical acclaim that this record got led to Oppenheimer
Analysis reforming to both produce new music and perform live once again.
For anyone with a love of the early 80s synth-pop and cold wave sounds this
is a performance that shouldn’t be missed.

Headlining the main room will be one of the true masters of the dirty brown Den Haag sound – Rude 66. Since 1994 Rude 66 has been an integral part of the Dutch electro scene, having released on all the coolest labels (Crème
Organization, Bunker, Viewlexx, Angel Maker, Acid Planet) and running the
analogue purist Vynalogica label out of Amsterdam’s CEM studio. Rude 66's
acclaimed live shows are intense, analogue, improvised workouts, featuring
vocals by Rude’s wife Shaunna, and are based loosely on the studio tracks.
Concentrating on the darker side of electro sound Rude likes his tracks to
sound like you're on the red carpet pathway to hell. Dancing.

Keeping the feet stomping, the jam pumping and the crowd jumping will be
the ever faithful Fratelli Di Rimini. As there will be no advanced tickets we
would suggest pulling on your best dancing gear and getting there early.
