15gb download limit p/m.. any good?

It's gonna be a 2mb line but with a 15gig cap.. I don't know how much i used to use with my 1mb line per month but i'm not sure if it would have reached the equivilent of 7.5gb..

few films, few albums and the rest just looking at websites..

Has anyone got any stats for their current monthly usage?

How much in gerneral does viewing of websites a few hours everyday rank up in mb each month.. I'd hate it if i signed up for this package and realised i was hitting the limit in 10 days

yeah but for £35 each month? :spangled:

I dont want to pay more than £20 per month to be honest.. I can only work part time atm and my mam refuses to pay for it. Plus I have a trip to london in 2 weeks then saving up for florida in august so I'm giving myelf a budget atm.

Maybe if I ask, 2mb with 15gb cap Vs 1mb uncapped?

1Mbps uncapped, you'll find 15GB goes very quickly...

Also remember that it's bandwidth, you won't notice much speed difference between 1Mbps and 2Mbps

15Gb is nothing really these days..

    Go for the 1mb uncapped..

60 - 70k down and as dodgy says.. for browsing the web u'll barely notice the difference.

I was just thinking mainly for downloads.. I suppose 15 gig would be a bit of a low limit.

I used to either get 40kb/s or 100+ wtih my old broadband.. jus seemd like the only 2 speeds xdcc bots and websites would download at. upload speeds must all be similar with xdcc channls that I used huh..

So the 1mb it is.. lets hope i can sound angry enough down the phone to homecall to make them cancel my subscription.. kinda hasnt started yet since they never bothered to let me know they couldnt setup bb on my line.

I noticed the speed difference between 2mb and 1mb, funnily enough, was about twice as much kbps downstream :p

Unless ive got the wrong end of the stick of course!

I'm on a 15gb cap, does me fine, and i download a fair amount of stuff, but not loads

8 o' us use the same net connection here. Always something being downlaoded, porn, tunes etc etc. Don't think we've ever hit our limit. Don't think we got one!
ON 1 meg blueyonder I think!

Yes you have, that's why I put "width" in bold - your download 'speed' is limited to whatever the speed is at the other end, you'll notice some downloads will be faster with 2Mbps over 1Mbps, but others will be exactly the same. (eg I have 4Mbps, but most downloads on average are ~20/30kB/s, either with nothing else downloading, or with 350kB/s downloading elsewhere - hence 'width')

General day to day browsing, the difference between 2Mbps and 1Mbps is negligible.

I'm still undecided what to do.. I'll probably go with the 1mb line with no cap though as i'm scared i'll reach the 15gig limit too soon.

And Welshman, caps are fairly new with the higher speeds.. my old 1mb was unlimited too.
