12/02/10 CITRIC ACID vs. Face your Fate MANASYt live @ King's Manor

Hailing from the twilght zone of post communist Bulgaria; Petar Tassev aka MANASYt brings his unique dark techno/electro sound to the damp shores of the North East of England for a Newcastle debut in subterranean confines of the King's Manor.

Since his first recognised release on Beta Ever's Kommando 6 label way back in 2002 MANASYt has been pretty prolific and gained a cult following with releases on Andrea Parker's Touchin' Bass label, Roulette Rekordz of Belgium and numerous outings on the Dutch label Bunker.

MANASYt has also appeared on compilations such Dave Clarke's 'World Service 2' and Andrea Parker's 'Nobody's Perfect' as well as producing under the guise of Sam Lowery with releases on Legowelt's Strange Life Records and the Italian minimalrome label.

The sound is hard, industrial electro that echos the Electronic Body Music of DAF, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242 and the like. A healthy intake of hardcore metal and industrial as a youth has helped shape the music of MANASYt. Masked and live in a dark, low ceiling basement is a perfect location for the well travelled Bulgarian!

DJ support comes from Andrew Ingram of the Glaswegian Slabs of the Tabernacle.

This night will be run in collaboration with Citric Acid making provision for hardcore, techno and acid in the upstairs bar.

Two nights for the price of one and a bargain of an entry fee at £3 to catch an act that rarely plays the UK is well worth it!
