UFC 70 April 21st 2007 - Manchester M.E.N Arena I wish I had money to goto this! Shame I didn't know about it before my birthday a couple of weeks ago otherwise it would have definately been my #1 present Not sure how much the tickets cost but I think atm you only get access to them if you're a UFC Fan Club Member.. here Tickets can be bought through Ticketmaster
Re: UFC 70 April 21st 2007 - Manchester M.E.N Arena £250 I was fairly looking forward to going to this aswell, cro cops on
Re: Re: UFC 70 April 21st 2007 - Manchester M.E.N Arena and tito and forest although none of the fight cards have been confirmed by the UFC yet. Surely £250 is for the best seats? I wouldnt be fussed being further back as you'd be watching the big screens most of the time anyway and the atmosphere would still be the same
Re: Re: Re: UFC 70 April 21st 2007 - Manchester M.E.N Arena Oh yeah, theres other ones aswell, only saw the £250 ones at first.. only £100 left at cheapest now
i saw ortiz get his ass well kicked by a mate of my b/f in china whites in london. lee murray had just beaten pele landis and they were celebrating later in whites when ortiz said something and they both started scrapping. lee murray well kicked his ass i think the better fighters are in PRIDE FC
the difference !!! pride vs ufc [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jESfadAYOJ0"]YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.[/ame]
That video doesn't show any difference at all It's just a load of clips of Pride and a few daft texts about UFC. tbh you can't compare a lot of fights in PFC with the UFC because there are rules regarding the edge of the ring which can be the reason for a lot of changes during fights. In the UFC it doesnt matter about being squashed up against the sides. Even still, those highlights don't show anything better than you can find in the UFC. I do prefer the UFC to Pride as you can probably tell Although there are a lot of good fighters in PFC, I don't think there's much or a solid difference overall. Heavyweight is defo better though.
there are many differences for 1 there are no time limits on the floor in pride 2 stomping, headbutting, knees and kicks on the floor are all allowed in pride but not in ufc. all in all pride is more brutal and more interesting as there is much less of the "american" hype crap that goes with it all.
What american hype? IMO, stomping shouldn't be allowed as it doesn't take much skill to stamp on someone's head and even in a street fight where there are no rules, stamping is frowned upon by the majority so I don't see why it should be allowed in professional fights.. it oozes slyness and diminishes any form of respect imo. The same goes for kicking on the floor.. leg shots are ok but to the head are just as sly as stomping. Knees and headbutts.. well that's not that big of a deal. You were alowed to do this in the early days of UFC but it doesnt bother me that much. You get more of a technical ground game going on without them.
THE LAST FIVE NAMES YOU MENTIONED ALL MOVED OVER TO PRIDE !! on interview mark kerr and mark coleman were asked as to why they no longer fought for ufc and the answer was that they thought that pride was more of a true competition for all round fighters. as i say i like both, but if stand up ruled fighting is what you want then K1 is more the thing. paul my bro fights a lot in holland and they have some awesome fighters there but its way way more brutal than pride or ufc
I know, that's my point. Obviously the changes in rules weren't to allow stand up fighters to have more of a chance. TBH it depends what someone defines as an all round fighter. It's a bias opinion if you're a stand up fighter and you say a cage match isn't as much of an all round fight as one in a rope ring. Obviously you're going to get pissed off when ur thrown to the ground up against the wall of a cage but I think this is all round fighting as opposed to getting shifted all the time. I'm not really a fan of K-1 like.
