I got 3,516 squids back from Natwest. FYI always send EVERYTHING registered post. It's far to easy for a letter to be 'lost' follow up letters with phonecalls and ask they be documented to their account.

Started doing my credit cards now, Natwest have offered me the difference between £12 and the charge (ie £8 back for a £20 charge). I think its because the courts ruled that theyre allowed to charge £12? They did offer me it straight away when I asked for the statements tho, dunno wether to try push them further or not.

    Ever changing
I finally sent off my letter and cheque yesterday .... people need to do it ASAP though cause i think its going to be legislated about soon so the chances of getting a refund for the full amount might be changed.

..... i shudder to think about all the charges ive racked up in the past 4-5 years - must have been at least 100 odd quid a year from dipping over overdrafts and stuff.

    Fingers crossed.

I've just applied for a judgement by default against the Halifax. If they don't pay up then I'm going to send in the bailiffs :D

Letter before action to Barclaycard on Friday.

Read the guide on consumeractiongroup from start to finish.

Your next step is to file it with the court - you can print the forms off online and it takes about 10 minutes. Everything you need to write is on that website.

You then send it off to the court, and they serve papers on the Halifax who have 2 weeks to reply. If they don't (and they often don't) then you apply for judgement by default. All you do for this is fill in the form the court send you and send it back saying that they haven't replied.

Once I have this, which should arrive in the next week or so, then I'll write to them giving them a week to pay up. If they don't, then I apply for a warrant of execution, which sends the bailiffs in.

Don't settle at any point for less than the full amount of charges, and don't be afraid of the court process. The most you could possibly lose is the £30 court fee, and that's vanishingly unlikely.

You're lucky, they have frozen all claims due to going to court over it all to see whether they are actually illegal charges!
