Are you looking forward to going back to Foundation one last time?

not going unfortunately, i wish it was on new years day :(

What do you expect from Shindig at Foundation at NYE?

i expect it will be packed to the rafters, with sweat/ condensation dripping off the ceiling and lots of spangled people slumped on the couches upstairs, tripping others up with their feet

What made Shindig at Foundation so special in your opinion?

The fact that it was the first proper nightclub i'd ever been to and its completely shaped my musical tastes to this day, coerced me into spending huge amounts of money on records and djing equipment and getting into the place every weekend for a good while, the atmosphere on big nights ie lawler howells deep dish cox etc etc was absolutely second to none and some of the memories, although hazy will last for a very very long time

What are your favourite memories of Shindig at Foundation?

Deep dish every single time i've seen them there. Absolutely destroyed the place. especially the last time they played together there, played kosheen: all in my head (planet funk remix) halfway through ended the night with coldplay: clocks with a lexicon avenue acapella over the top, i think i was pretty much in tears

Scott bradford warm ups: always absolutely bang on, often better than the dj who was playing after

Carl cox playing run dmc its like that halfway through a set, watching the whole place go absolutely mental

Have you got any more slightly more bizarre/random memories from your time there?

My mates getting caught in the toilet cubicle together and trying to persuade the door staff that they were bumming each other and not doing bad illegal drugs in an effort to not get thrown out. not the wisest thing to say to big manly bouncers :)

Which DJs do you think most sum up Shindig at Foundation

    Scott Bradford/lexicon avenue
    Satoshi Tomie
    Steve lawler
    Deep Dish
    Danny Howells
    Peace division

Are you looking forward to going back to Foundation one last time?

Have decided to go away for NYE. I was happy with the send off with Danny Rampling. For me it would be very hard to beat that night, so I am quite happy to leave it at that.

What do you expect from Shindig at Foundation at NYE?

    Rammed. Wicked atmosphere.

What made Shindig at Foundation so special in your opinion?

For a long time, I was practically there every week. It played a huge part in my life and is something I still look back on now with special memories.. For me, the atmosphere, music and the club it self made it. Loads of familiar friendly faces and wicked music. I think Scott being such a good resident also made it special. He used to warm up for various DJ's each week and never played a bad set. Used to love getting there early just to see Scott's sets.

What are your favourite memories of Shindig at Foundation?

Roger Sanchez destroying the place on a couple of occasions. One particular night, him killing the sound, then shouting to the crowd 'do you want one more'!?

Lawler at his peak rinsing the club every time he played. Actually seeing him smile/jump about, which was quite rare back then.

    Danny Howell's 5 hour sets.

Satoshi Tomiie's first appearance. Was not really sure what to expect but he played one of the most dark, driving progressive house sets I have ever heard. Back when it was good. Remember him dropping 'Sono - Keep Control' and his little Japanese mate was dancing on the stage, loving it.

    Jon Carter's stage dive.

Have you got any more slightly more bizarre/random memories from your time there?

Cannot think of any at mo.

Are you looking forward to going back to Foundation one last time?

Absolutely cant wait. Its gonna be mint!!!

What do you expect from Shindig at Foundation at NYE?

Same old faces, quality banter, dance offs down the front in the circle of life, loads of messy people in a haze of shindig love, sweat dripping from the ceiling, me not being able to remember anything when i wake up the next day

What made Shindig at Foundation so special in your opinion?

For me it was the first real club i went to and in there i met the people who have become my best friends today. We hooked up due to a love of proper underground house and the need to go out solely to dance and work off the stresses of a week at graft. I used to buzz standing in the queue outside waiting to get in. You could hear the bass thundering through the walls and it was a genuine burning desire to get in there and burn rubber a soon as was physically possible. I remember when you opened the doors after you had paid to get in and the music just washed over you. It was an amazing feeling. Proper lets have it moment and the comaradery that followed was just life affirming at the time. Scott Bradfords warm up sets taught me how you should Dj and the night is responsible for me investing thousands in Dj and recording equipment. Sorry for going off on a rant there but i just absolutely fucking loved the place!!!!!!!!

What are your favourite memories of Shindig at Foundation?

Steve Lawler light out 2 intro - Proper 'what is gan on' moment

Sasha involver tour 4 hr set - Blew my mind

Masters at work, cant remember what year but they were amazing. Probably the busiest and best atmosphere ive ever experienced in there

John Digweed - Cant remember the year. Got kicked out the backdoor after a random search on the way back from the toilets. Walked straight round to the front door and paid to get in again. Changed t shirts with me mate for disguise and proceeded to have one of the best nights i had ever had till the lights came on at the end

Have you got any more slightly more bizarre/random memories from your time there?

Too many to mention. Every night in there was bizarre!!!

    god damn people with memories:evil:

I have vague recollections of repeatedly dancing on / getting kicked off the raised platform bits between the seats on multiple occasions between 1995-99 + dancing to good techno upstairs a fair bit, and that's about it:lol:

oh and I'm sure I remember virtually the whole of shindig decending on a warehouse party on mass one time just round the corner from shindig just before the barley mow / stereo?
