Ufc 63 Good main fight. I'd say I wasn't too suprised but I actually was. Hard not to be when you think about it lol Anyone know what the song is called that intros Hughes? It's class
Re: Re: Ufc 63 Yeah but MMA isn't about who's best at each seperate art, it's all about being well rounded and prepared for anything. Hughes is a cardio wizard, is strong as hell and is good on the floor. Penn tires quickly though so once he's missed his golden opportunity he dies. I like how he can get his leg behind his head without using his hands though PS. It's 'A Country Boy Can Survive"
i just saw some UFC the other day, fucking brutal! mad bastards! i wouldnt like to get in a fight with them.
Well.. at least they can see submissions coming and can take punches well. I'd be winded off one body punch and submitted with a double arm bar triangle or something
Did anyone see the english kid in one of the earlier fights. He was a total embarasment, tried to do some gay scissor kick at the start and landed on his arse
The hardest people to fight are those with absolutely no strict technique. Hughes just uses brute force and pounds the shit out of them. Nothing much is going to stop that
Re: Re: Re: Re: Ufc 63 It depends how you look at it though. Some fighters stand out more with precise martial art skills but in the end it leave them in the shit when they face certain types of opponents, whereas Hughes, imo, is a better all rounded fighter then BJ Penn. Cardio is probably the most important skill to have once you've learnt how to attack and defend yourself well. I think Hughes' record of 41-4 speaks for itself. Only 2 of them losses being in the UFC. Gracie was 'the best submissions guy' in the world but was no problem for Matt Hughes.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Ufc 63 Well that's what I'm saying.. if you're only capable of being a good fighter for potentially 2 rounds then you aren't the best
Hughes shoulda been out at the end of the second. He finally found a way to stop Penn's bendy limbs! It woulda been a grave misfortune if Hughes had lost.. I've seen Penn lose to far far worse oppenents..
the reason penn is outta shape is cause he came outta retirement for the fight so he wasnt conditioned enough, imo hughes is deffo the best all round fighter he can take whatever is giving to him
You see it all the time.. someone thinks they have the submission locked in so they use up every last bit of energy that they have only to see their opponent get out of it and unleash hell. BJ Penn was saying he didn't like training as much close to a fight cos it tired him out. To me thats a sign of poor conditioning.
Does anyone have any of the "Ultimate Knockouts" or better still, "Ultimate Submissions" compilations that i could 'borrow'?
