Dead Mans Shoes Film 4 @ 11pm this is a fucking stonking film only seen it the other week but i will be watching it again
It's great like, love the part where one of the dealers asks Paddy what he's lookin at and he retorts with "YOU YER CUNT!!" Garry Streach is good in it too
Definitely the best British film of the last decade and one of the greatest British films of all time imo. Paddy Considine, imo, is the greatest actor of his generation and his performance in this is a piece of understated genius. *SPOILERS AHEAD* That shot of him sitting in the bus stop alone after you realise that Anthony has been dead all along, the emptiness in his eyes - amazing. Proper gets to me just thinking about it.
I like the bit where he's stood squaring up to Sonny; and Sonny goes 'you're not scared of me are you' & he laughs and just says 'nope'
yep and he goes "you're there mate" points to his hand then clutches his fist - one of the best tense moments anyone know what the craic is with car they are driving round in...it was the only thing that puzzled me
Part of shane meadows random in joke kinda things i think. lots of situations and images come from his own youth i think
More than anything I think it's just a visual gag, these 4 so-called hard men squeezed into this tiny ridiculous looking car. The car may also be a metaphor for the gang themselves. (ie that model car in the overall scheme of cars is shit, Sonny and his gang think they're all that, but if Gangsta's were cars they'd be probabaly be that model, bottom of the chain.) Or I could be talking absolute shit like.
