ahh, that explains it then. still abit worried cos im only getting 1.4mb connection at the mo, hopefully this should give me the 6.5 i was promised.

nah m8 i signed up 2 Talk Talk when my previous provider went tits at the beginnig of july, E7even.com, just did a few checks to see what wot was going on with TT to see if all the greef they were getting was fair, but all the peeps ive spoke to are having the same probs as you just cos they didnt realise the go live date was end of august, got no complaints about them the swapped me fone line and everything within a week all for £20 a month

I'm with pipex, they were good once but i think they are shite now and i am looking to change sooner rather than later. The max i can get is 1mb but my neighbour gets a lot faster connection with tiscali

I was getting disconnected all the time up until a few weeks ago. My dad gave me a different modem to try which made my talk talk modem work properly. It's been totally fine since I had another modem nearby ready to use if I need to

One of my mtaes changed over about the same time as me which is about 3 months, her phone is done but she's still waiting for the broadband

Downloading is a load of hassle having to re-connect after 20 mintues of not doing anything though.

How much would a modem cost that would sort that out? Or is there any way of stopping it disconnecting after 20 minutes of not actively doing anything?

if your using talk talks software.... open internet explorer, go to tools, internet options, then clic on talk talk and go to settings. then look for the disconnect option and make sure its set to never disconnect. i think thats how it looks :spangled:
