Why do non-Christians have xmas day off?

yeah but my christmas has never ever ever been about religion. My christmas is about having family about, having some spot on dinner, having some presents, getting time off work, getting drunk and going to parties. It is also about Santy/Santa not St.Nicholas really. I know it is the same thing but you need to think about the various connotations of each word and its associations to people. I mean santa is more associated with Coca-Cola.

It is not about jesus, god, angels, or anything like that. I remember having this arguement with my dad as he was going to cancel christmas due to the fact I told him I did not believe in God.

jesus was supposed to have been born more around september time... i think christmas is in december due to some old pagan ritual that was at that time, like easter is on an old ritual date too
