    Re: Rear Projection TVs

dont know if this is still the case but some early rear projection tvs wouldnt have a perfect picture unless u sat directly infront faceing it , i.e. if u looked at it on angle from the side the quality would be poor , if visable at all that is !!

Was in Currys the other day looking at a giant sony one, picture quality was amazing. The reason they're cheaper may be that all the new TV's are HDTV compatible.

Nah man. The new ish ones dont. My 32 inch normal TV is probably deeper. Make sure you get a DLP though (+HD if the cash is there). "What hi-fi" did a thing with them a few months back. May sill be on the website.

Rear Projection TV's are perhaps the biggest electrical bargin you can buy in the UK at this time. The picture quality is amazing and they are so cheap becasue the technology is old and all the small cocks want LCD these days.

IF YOU WANT A GREAT TV CHEAP: BUY ONE

If it breaks within the 3 year warranty period it wont cost anything to be fixed, guarenteed it will break after 3 years and one week though

You will probably be able to get a 50" LCD for the same price in 3 years anyway

Wrong, the new DLP chip technology Samsung and others are using in the Rear Projection is streets ahead of LCD/PLASMA.

    Listen to Pike.

The viewing angle is far superior than the Plasmas.

You don't have to sit straight on, the depth and quality of the Samsung DLP I have is amazing.
