Drug squad police arrest Doherty

Singer Pete Doherty has been arrested after a police drugs operation in the town where his band had been playing.
Babyshambles had played at Shrewsbury's Music Hall on Saturday night before it was raided by drug squad officers with sniffer dogs.

Police said a man and a woman were later arrested for possession of class A drugs and 17 others searched during an operation in the town overnight.

Two coaches were also searched in the town and suspected drugs seized.

The two people arrested, one of which is understood to be Doherty, have been taken to police stations in Telford and Wellington and are expected to be interviewed on Sunday afternoon.

I was there and he didnt clasps on stage apparantly it was afterewards when he was out!

He gets so much press coverage as if other people dont do excatly the same thing its only cause kate came in the scene they get hammered for it!

were they any good?? someone at work had spare tix but i couldnt go down, would have liked to see what they were like though

yeah it was ok not as good as I expected but I didnt like the venue!

He was/they were meant to of been awesome on Wed or whenever it was like, granted one of me mates didnt recognise any of his tunes like he said he was class and proper entertaining the crowd

I like some of there stuff, i dont condone the way he is and acts - apparently went thru a bottle of vodka neat on the stage, was launching things about n putting on the crowds clothes they'd thrown at him and generally getting em going

And aye he was apparently "off his dial"....

What a waste of police time and resources. A full scale raid just to do a junky for posession of smack because they felt the need to show they were doing something after his girlfriend was "outed" for snorting coke.

What's the betting they say they "smashed an international drug ring".
