does anyone know what the latest service pack 'dodgy' windows users can download? i know the last time i checked it was sp2 but that was a while ago

Think its SP4/5 for 2k.

Oh and then theres the small matter of the vista beta

When i use automatic update it says that it cant install cos of my windows serial number

Is it a evaluation version then?

Its a dodgy copy but its the full version i assume.Fuck knows will worry about it tommorow

They've introduced some new verification software checks.. if u don't have a valid copy u can't get updates..

Lee if you want to know how to get round that check pm me and I can talk ya through it.

Verification checks can be disabled ....

Open internet explorer go to tools > Manage add ons

use the drop down list at the top and change it to
"add ons that have been used by Internet explorer"

Scroll down to find "Windows genuine Advantage"

Highlight it and at the bottom of the window you can disable it

Go to windows update and get your updates

Cant find this on my version of internet explorer

try tools > internet options > programs > manage add ons.

Dont have that option either .My version of internet explorer problies really fucking old lol its the one thats on the xp disc i havent updated it will i be able to doownload the newer version

if u already have a dodgy copy then just aquire another dodgy copy that already has sp2 on it

could i then install it without wiping all the files off my computer???

you can, tho u will need to reinstall some progs as without the stuff in the reg to tell windows its there adn installed it wont work.
