New MOT System it sucks. it would have gone, in the old days, something like this : £30 MOT, ahh we'll replace those rusty break pipes and fucked velocity joint - an re-MOT for nowt - call it... £80? instead, the new computerised 'anti fraud' system * (* another way for that fat scottish prick brown to skull fuck the car owners of the world) £40 MOT and it failed. You need £120 on work doing THEN as none of the work falls into the 'retest for free' list - it's another £40. OR if u leave the car with us for a few days so it doesn't leave our premises, we can 'partially MOT' for only £20. Call it... £200? My arse hurts... so i've obviously been fucked up it... but i'm still in shock. oh - and my road tax is due in 2 weeks... £190 is i want 12 months... and it's a £1 a litre for petrol. fucking communists. i'm almost mad enough to vote next time around...

Not that i'm aware of. they have to 'log on' to the computer system when they start, and 'log off' when they finish - so an inspector could walk in , check the computer "ahh he's on the exhaust" go into the garage and see him on the exhaust. They get fines and penalties too for false checking. it's only been running about 2 months... it's still early days.... you need to take your V5 too... it's all to stop dodgy fuckers like you

Aye my dad informed me of this nonsense. The thing is, a good garage like Tyre Spot will check the car over for free, point stuff out, then if need be you can pay for that, THEN get it mot'd... Tyre Spot are really good like, very honest too.
i hope thats not the way it works now!! In that case im dreading my car being done next year. Got i done half price this year cos it has to be done middle of january and everywhere had offers on after crimbo, better start saving eh
