Feedback is far better than Stonelove. Its been quite full the times ive been but the sheep continue following the crowd and have flocked to Digital

    stonelove attracts thousands.... and undeservedly.

the music is dire pop commecrial shit or the same crap they've been playing for 5 years.

feedback deserves these numbers... but until the masses discover it stonelove will continue to prosper... which isnt fair.

they always seemed to do pretty well when rockports were frowned upon and the huge dj's i was referring to are for shindig, not for somewhere else to compete.

the fact that they allow things like rockports is causing people to stay away, so they may lose one area of the market but in doing so they may well attract the former numbers who used ram the place out.

p.s don't plan on going into promotions, just offering an opinion, so wind ya neck in!

what i'm trying to say is take the old shindig value's and move them to new venue. a few years back shindig got voted best underground club by one of the music mags.(not sure which one though) what they need to do is try and recapture the ''essence'' that won that title!

when i first went to shindig at foundation it was a couple of years before it got refurbished, it had a low roof, not a hell of a lot of space but the atmosphere was fucking amazing.
when it reopened many thought that the it would'nt be the same, but for a few years it was as good as if not sometimes better.... now without trying to sound like a nostalgic old man... the atmos just seems to be a bit flat these days, which is why WHQ was sooo good last night coz it kinda reminded me of how shindig was a few years back!:)

So what your saying is...compete directly with Shindig by putting Shindig style DJ's on at Foundation again?

I dont think it would be wise to try and compete with Shindig, but that essence of music might be good for say monthly Fridays..

Noooo! Shindig is a recognised MASSIVE house night, all that will do is make Foundation lose a LOT of money.

Theres no way they can compete with Shindig because of the way people are, thats just the way it is.

    1. who runs shindig at digital? ( is still scot and scoobz etc?)

    2.who runs foundation now?

    3. what do foundation currently have on a saturday night?

i agree and disagree. shindig is a massive house night, and i've been in regular attendance for many years now, however its a big market place, and if for example, you had a lesser known dj at shindig and someone like carl cox/roger sanchez playing elsewhere, they're not just gonna go to shindig because of the name and somekind of loyalty!

The only thing I would change in the club atm would have to be the DJ stand. It looks utter gash, protrudes far too much into the room and spoils the layout.

Most people have already raised the points I would make, trying to compete with shindig directly by putting on a night with the same music is a big mistake. What mark has done so far has been to try and provide an alternative with more soulful stuff. In my eyes that was the right thing to do... Most of what joe has said has been spot on too IMO.

What about stuff like dnb, rnb, hip-hop etc? There's plenty of music genres amd scenes that aren't being represented at digital...
