Fabric Live Damn Damn Damn Damn Good! I thought it couldnt get any better than Turnmills, but finally managed to get to Fabric on friday. This aint just samey music and the occasional awful PA (which most ive seen have been), but this was just unreal. Walked straight into live singers, rock bands, then after a few hours the DJ's were working in electro house, nice chunky house .... WHole place was screaming when Mylo - Drop the pressure was played, then right onto 'london' prog .... club busy and dancefloor packed even after closing time and three encores later. Club was clean, looked like a lot of dosh had been spent on it. Sound system can only be described as stunning - clear and loud but never painful at all. Just felt 'right'. The vibrating dancefloor is mint aswell. Security... what security? Cant say i saw any at all. LOL. Absolutely no bother what so ever - mint crowd, usual mix of shipping logistics managers, primary school teachers and other highly responsible people in a very unresponsible place We are not worthy! The first person to successfully ship this kind of clubbing north of the thames is gonna be onto a massive thing. This really felt like something else and something i think an even wider audience than most clubs could ever imagine would flock to. Ten out of ten like.
FabricLive, WALL OF SOUND PRESENT(SIC.) with Juliet (Live), Tom Middleton, Juan MacLean (Live), Visitor, KILL 'EM ALL & LET GOD SORT IT with Justice, Cut Copy (LIVE), The Filthy Dukes, Fear of Music DJs, White Music Movement (Live), Simian Mobile Disco, Test Icicles (Live), WALL OF SOUND PRESENTS TWO CULTURE CLASH..., Mark Rae, Howie B, Switch Tom Middleton and Juliet were the highlights for me. Watching a grinding fit girl singing on stage when your a bit worse for year has to be in the top ten best things to do in life
Was quality. Tom Middleton was the bollox. Juliet (Live) also v good too. Infact every dj/act was spot on. After about 230 i was too trashed to be able to remember who was who, and what sort of stuff they played. But it was all top stuff. Do Fabric even make poor/average bookings? Both main rooms top quality. Didnt really make it into Room 3 apart from one early wonder. Think i spent most time in Room 1. Think i said to Brid near the end "theres a lot of people in Shakedown", and he said "no thats clubbers dancing on the stage". Doh!
Re: Fabric Live The what? I never noticed one, and that was my second visit. Which room? Dont you remember that kid getting a kicking off the bouncers for nowt on our way out? Well harsh. U told me to keep quiet, cos i shouted "howay theres no fuckin need for that like". That would be incredible.
i can't wait to go back to fabric, its immense. vin u seemed to be having a gudden from the txts i was getting, i was mortal and fell asleep eventually
Re: Re: Fabric Live Its quite subtle but all the bass is pumped through the floor aswell so you can feel the bass better than if you just rammed the volume up more and more. Probably how they get that lush clear and full feeling without it being ear splitting loud. Yeah that lad at the end got the rough end of a bouncers bad mood... but in all fairness the geezer was asking for it a bit. Ive never gotten in any trouble with doormen before but i'd say the first commandment is NEVER EVER fight back against them or try and take the piss..... bad crack tho.
