Exercises I've jsut been trying to figure out some decent exercises that you can do at home without the aid of special equipment. Exercises to work your arm muscles and your stomach mainly. I've started doing a few sets of 20 press-ups per day, 30 sit ups and pushing up and down off the side of my bed with my feet up on a chair in front. I also run home from work whenever i can which is a good mile nd a half i'd say. Before you say goto the gym, I'm thinking about getting myself a decent weights bench with a range of different features that i can stick in the garage. Which exercises do you any of you fitness freaks do (if thewre's any of you) to work the biceps and the triceps, abs etc etc?
ive just started swimming twice a week do few lengths then jump in the steam room get hot as fook then do a few more lengths couldnt be arsed with the weights like, bit boring imo
I dont want to do just those muscles, I was just wondering what the best techniques were to focus on those ones. I used to train twice a week for running events that involved everything but it wasnt really aimed at building your arm muscles an awful lot. as fot the dips. I'm assuming thats what i'm doing then i push up n down off the frame of my bed with my feet up on a chair?
I was actually trained by Jonathan Edwards(sp?) trainer. It was really hard work tho as i was only 14 and the average age was about 18. All training without the use of equipment.
get some dumbells or that bar with weights on the end and do some curls but with your knuckles upwards to your face. with the bar thing have it above your head and slowly bring it down either infront of your face or behind. If your're getting a bench, lie down and follow the knuckle upward curl pattern having the weight above your waist then pull towards your face and push pack. Then also the obvious bench press. Finally for the old tum if you get bored of plain sit ups i like putting on some boxing gloves and as you sit up push some pads, i do it with a partener where they shout a number of times to punch but i suppose you could just count yourself. end of babble
I'm talking about exercises without any equipment here Advice noted nonetheless though I fancy splashing out about £300 for something out of the argos fitness section. After comparing prices with other places obviously.
just go to the gym, get a temp membership for a month, get your induction, won't even cost £30 and then you will know what you should be doin, even though the methods shown to you will be very standard/orthodox and not necessarily the best. me + my mate go to the gym at blaydon rugby club. if you still kno carrick, go with him to greenside gym, he's well sound and i'm sure he wouldn't mind. if he doesn't go anymore, you are more than welcome to come with us; £3 for an individual session, ain't that much defo not worth chuckin 300 quid on summat from argos that is more than likely not gonna be what you want and only train part of what you need. also sit-ups are useless, anything which you can do endless reps then keep going obviously isn't working the muscle group
I might take u up on that offer. But first you have to realise that any well known exercise you can do endlessly is not being done right I know after about 30 proper sit ups my stomach is trembling all over the place.
I'll let you know Who do u go with? I'm going to feel like a little kid with the adults i've never set foot in a gym before
