    Glazer's plan

According to The Times, Glazer is planning to raise the price of Old Trafford tickets by 54 percent within the next five years.

The newspaper made the claims after suggesting it viewed 'previously unseen documents' on Glazer's five-year vision for The Red Devils.

The report also suggests that UEFA Champions League ticket prices will increase by 25 percent from next year

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson will also be limited to a player spending budget of £25 million per season - excluding receipts from player sales - while an added £25 million will also be available to spend over the five-year period.

Glazer's reported five-year plan includes the new owner's desire to increase the club's revenues by 52 percent from £161.5 million this year to £245.6 million by 2010.

Under the plan, the improved turnover would be funded by a 61 percent increase in matchday sales, a 13 percent rise in media sales and a 76 percent increase in sales of merchandise and other commercial activities.

Glazer's plan also suggests that United players would be expected to appear in a yearly showcase match in the owner's hometown of Tampa, Florida.

The report is sure to further disillusion United supporters, with some fans seemingly ready to follow through with their boycott of the Premiership giants following Glazer's takeover last month.

All of that does not look to bad to me to be honest, a 54% in season tickets over 5 years is not that bad how much percentage increase have Newcastle fans had in the last five years ? and as for ONLY having £25 million pound to spend a season before player sales, fucking hell it must be a hard life suporting Man United

But they aren't the best team in the land anymore. They won't be gettiing all the new glory supporters. They'll be supporting Chelsea and Arsenal! They'll still probably sell out every week, but there fan base will be going down, not up!

£25 Million for Man Utd isn't that much, when they are trying to compete with Chelsea, and trying to get back to being No1 in Europe. If an average season ticket costs £500 now, in five years it will be over £750! That's one hell of a hike, and I certainly wouldn't be paying that sort of increase. I've had a Newcastle season ticket for about 8 years, and the biggest increase in one season was £15 I think. No where near this proposed increase!

They've got noone to blame but themselves. Floating a football club on the stock exchange may be a brilliant way to make money, but it leaves you wide open to this kind of takeover, and if someone's determined enough to buy out the club, they will do it, it's just a matter of time...

    It serves them right.

A lot of people think its funny whats happend to Man united but im sure if it was YOUR club you wouldnt be so smug about it. ive supported Man united for 21 years since i was 8 and it tears me apart seeing the GLAZIER FUCKING PRICK ARSE Family take over the club i love i know they will destroy it, yes i dont live in manchester no i am not a glory supporter yes i am thinking about turning my back on the club ( would follow newcastle if i did as they are my second team )
But to be honest as a man u supporter and being a man u supporter for so many years my heart will always be with them.

The danger of what happened with Manchester is that it could happen to any club. They had the chairman of another NFL team on the BBC this morning and he said that other teams/clubs were looking at buying into English football in the same way. Look at how many clubs in the PL are PLCs....

Man Utd have just been victims of their own success, but it just goes to show that there is too much money in football and too many chairmen/boards have become too greedy for their own good.
