    yeah, my dad was a paratrooper so used to go to loads of military shows and get pics of me and assorted huge death machines :p

    The old man was a gunner so he had to have a pic of me with one of the GPMG's he fired, it was a long time ago but i still distinctly remember thinking 'christ, this is heavy' ya can see on the pic that in leaning back to brace the weight of it.

    he informs me that it used to do it's job well however. :p

    thats shite the GPMG is still very much essential kit for the forces, and great fun to use. :D

    Yeah, my dad still stays in touch with his m8's from the para's (some of which are still in there) and i remember him saying something to me about it being replaced by the 'minimi' (which i'll assume that is :p )

    depends upon the job really, the GPMG has awsome firepower :eek: and is v reliable. The SA80 and shit are no good in the cold/desert or jungle.

    The still use them for ambushes and on APC's for the stopping power.

    Still I have been out for a fair few years now.
