Best place for train tickets? I need to get down to london for an appointment at 9:30am on the 10th of may.. if my m8's cant drive me down i'm gonna have to make my own way by train (cheapest, most practical i think?) and i was just wondering if u's had any recommendations for the cheapest train tickets. I'm not gonnabe staying there over night, just get there, goto the appointment at 9:30, then skip about town till dark then get a train back home at about 9.
http://www.thetrainline.com/ Expect to pay £60 >> £90 for a Saver Return on GNER. Book it now for the cheapest price.
if u went down the night before u could get a 20 quid return from newcastle leaving between 6-7 on 9th and coming back between 8-10 on 10th otherwise youll have to get a 65 quid return on morning of the 10th http://www.virgintrainsfares.co.uk/default.asp?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Evirgintrains%2Eco%2Euk%2Fbuy%5Ftickets%2Fdefault%2Easpx&T2ID=6905_2005418131248
If you think that you'll be catching the train a couple of times over the next year, might be worth getting a Young Persons Railcard for £20, gets you 1/3 off and lasts a year. *sighs wistfully, remembering the days of being young enough to qualify for a rail card*
All websites and train stations are exactly the same, I don't think you can get cheaper by using a different agent Not to Manchester anyway
Nice one m8.. didnt expect anyone to actually have a look appreciated. I might do that then. As for the railcard.. I think i'll get one of those too. As a 19 year old do i apply?
but where would i get off in london.. i have a feeling the train station will have me closer to the place i need to be than an airport.. but maybe not
You can get the Stanstead Express into London if you fly with Easyjet to Stanstead, goes to Liverpool Street station. http://www.stanstedexpress.com/
