3) AFTER TWO HOURS OF HEATS, TWO FINALISTS WILL BE TESTED TO THE FULL BY SPENDING AN HOUR EACH GOING BACK TO BACK WITH A WAX:ON RESIDENT.

its a class idea imo, wax-ons a good established night and this gives people the chance to get noticed, good idea lads

this board really has become a bit of a joke.

so the lads who run waxn are giving the chance for someone to play at foundation on the evolution festival after party and people are slating it.

if you're not interested fine but judging by the response elsewhere people are and for someone it's going to be a fantastic opportunity.

here mate, the boards recently had loads of clueless tossers join, with nothing better to do than slag off everything, its pathetic

how are djs meant to get noticed if no one gives them the opportunity? dj comps are generally a popularity contest - this one is purely based on crowd reaction as they're after someone who will entertain as well as be technically spot on. if you see any of the wax on djs play, you'll see that we all have fun behind the decks as that is part of what playing other people's records is all about. why would anyone want to see a dj who is moody or isn't looking like he/she is loving what they do?

also there are opportunities becoming available for djs at wax on as all of us are often getting double booked. i'm sure more than one person will get some kind of work from applying.

Camp D is a horrible place to have DJ comp, isnt it? There are no CD decks, the vinyl skips if anyone walks near the decks, and the acousitcs mean its really hard to mix, as the sound bounces all over the place... Im used to it, so maybe i will enter after all!

not CDJs anyway. Last time i tried to use them, it took me a good 5 mins to work out how to save my cue point. maybe im just slow though....haha..
