Tax... Fuming me like... Why is it ok for you to get taxed shit loads but when they realise they shouldnt be taxing you they dont rush to get the payments settled! Been in my job 5 months now and i put my forms in at the beggining of the year yet i'm still on emergency tax! Bastards! Does anyone know what the tax is like for a 2nd job? I start another job next week...is it gonna be worth it??
Its a BR Taxcode so you get charged a straight 22% on everything you earn in your second job. You could split your taxcode between the two jobs, but theres little point unless your earning very little.
Give your pay unit a call to see what's happening. It's more likely to be them than the IR. If you get no joy, ring the tax people in Leeds (I'll try to find you the number shortly) and explain your problem. They're often able to solve it over the phone, there and then. I've had this a few times and they've been able to sort it out without too much fuss. Look forward to the rebate...
