No. St Patrick's Day is nothing more than a cynical marketing ploy to a) sell Guinness, b) sell green clothes, c) make people pretend that they're uncle's pet dog's cousin is Irish, d) increase the price of Leprechaun stock, and e) sell more Guinness.
guiness is rank, however they do send me birthday cards, free pens, vouchers for free pints of guiness etc and with a metro ticket you can get a free pint of guiness at the lonsdale today (i think)
im going to the pub later (but that's cos im a student and i would be going regardless of what day it is )
Couldn't really give two-fucks either way - St George's Day would be a capitalist holiday too if they could market it and find the golden commodity of St George.
we cant celebrate St George like we can celebrate St Patrick for the simple reason it isnt politically correct to be English these days. However because of the 'oppresed Irishman" everyone loves St Patrick. oooo those nasty imperialistic English bastards. ave got nowt against the Scots, Welsh or most Irish people for that matter but just cos we were superior in battle to them in history we are made to feel guilty about it by the P.C Brigade. and for that reason if anyone foreigner takes the piss out of me for being English I will fucking nail them. www.wearetheenglish.co.uk
was out last night but not to celebrate those ***** holiday, or what ever it is!!!! who the fuck wants to wear a giant IM FUCKING IRISH hat WHEN YOUR NOT????? TITS
It's amazing how we choose to celebrate other occasions that mean fuck all to us but St Paddy's day is frowned upon by the "cool" crew.
All celebratory holidays have become nothing other than tools to shift products and keep us consuming. Therefore imo: St Patrick can shove his Guinness up his arse; the Easter Bunny can shove his chocolate eggs up his arse; and Santa Claus can shove all 8 reindeer and his sleigh up his rectum an' all.
Dodgy that's fair enough, your consistent. It's Spence and the anti anything other than English crew that are not.
No worries Having celebrations is good, but corporate involvement and manipulation is not. If St George had a product, he could shove whatever it is up his arse too little fact: the lurvely 'English' lager known as Carling was originally brewed in Canada, it's no wonder they never put their name to St George's Day...
