Used to go every friday without fail a few years ago but as happens with groups people move on etc etc, i went with my gf a few months ago and it was ok but the crowd has totally totally changed, alot of people get in there now that would of not stood a chance a few years back

The crowd has changed since the night began, tho the night in itself has changed loads too. You still cant beat weekly promise for atmosphere imo, and the music policy was more varied, with more prog & tech djs playing, tho the night was losing money and credit to mark & richard they made changes to stop this.

some of the dj's booked now are more 'mainstream' then the people booked back then, though thats what 90% of the people coming are into. id love to see more up & coming dj's playing, though ive seen when helping paul & scott with vuzz how hard it is to get people in for these djs, and if the dj's playing are guaranteed to fill the club then it would be stupid to try booking others, as it is a business at the end of the day.

ill still always come as long as i enjoy going, and ive made a lot of good mates through the night so the crack is always worth going for :)

Used to go nearly every week back in the good old days when Tyrant were residents  and they used to get guests like Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa, Parks & Wilson, Jimmy Van M, Slacker, Nigel Dawson etc.

    Used to be quality.

Have not been for years now tho

Used to go there every Friday when I was at Uni in Sunderland about 4 years back but stopped when I couldn't go coz of DJ'ing at Manor Quay on Fridays. Started going to Rockshots on a Saturday instead. :D

Loved Promise in the old days of Parks & Wilson but things move on and clubs change. Been around 3 times in the last year, but I'm more into the back room these days.

yes i agree, i think they are finally getting there act together after booking mainly house djs the last 2 years.

The Empire kicks Foundations arse as a venue especially when they have good dj line ups like they are starting to get again now.

oh over that way is it.. I may have to venture there. I've bene to tall trees once and going again on the 27th. Is it a bigish club with bigish DJ's there? I need to find a few more places to go from now on as I've vowed to stay indoors unless its for promise/goodgreef/godskitchen or smile on a monday cos its cheap and I like the house music and purple lights :D
