Having said that, I agree that after all these years, there can be no right or wrong about it, only a pragmatic solution or continued bloodshed.

ive said this before and ill say it again

if palestinians stop fighting then there will be peace
if israel stops fighting there will be no israel

however israel are not totally clean

in their bid for safety they have commited some attrocities

i.e killing civilians and destroying homes and also taking land

fighting over land is the simple explaination but its a complex issue

has any one read downsize this by m. moore? he had an interesting theory which stated some of the german land should have been given up in reparation for the holocaust.. instead barren land?

Typical Moore bullshit, the state of israel is founded on a sound legal claim... taking away a large propotion of a densley populated company would cause huge conflict... after all it was the establishment of Germany that spurned nationalist pride that gave birth to the Nazi party.

The area of Palestine that was populated by Jews (pre and post ww2) was barren and scarcley populated, the Jews purchased it legally from absentee land owners (and the likes) cultivating it and turning into a thriving land. Coupling this with their historical claim to the land provided the legitmacy needed too establish the state of israel.

Zionism came in the later stages of the immigration, during the early years most were just fleeing europe and had no interest in establishing a jewish state.
