it is hard when the big clubs are generally monthly but wots to stop them sticking on

    Judge Jules
    Matt Hardwick

    to pull the crowds

and then some new talent like Alucard, DJ Precision, Marcel Woods etc on with them. do that a couple of times, gauge the response of the crowd to said people. If they went down well and have amassed a fan base then bring them back.

Edit : Bah WhoIsJohnBenson said it before me but nevermind

I tell you what, vuzz could book the judge and matt at mono,
and promise could book golden scan

I still reckon that altho mono would be packed for the judge and matt, foundation would be empty by their standards for golden scan but there would still be more in to see goldenscan at foundation than what went to see them at mono becasue at the end of the day its going to take some time to convince people this mono place is a club and not a bar with later opening times.

having said that You'll still not change the powers that be at promise HQ minds.

and its easy to criticise from the comfort of your own chair at yuur own computer.

They should start a reality tv show following wannabee club promoters in newcastle, give them some free wonga and see how they get on. I daresay some of them would do canny good.

Then again others would slash all the money up the wall or up their noses

haha...some of the comments on this thread are hillarious!

if you all know it all like you think you do then why aren't you setting the world alight with your new and fresh ideas? instead you sit on your pc in one of the most backwards cities in the country (i love it too but it's years behind the rest!) telling people on a message board (for a club you don't even go to) what to do!

fair enough for those wanting to make a living out of promoting nights, you have to sell out to be able to these days. whatever happened to wanting to put on a night to make a good night though?

to be fair theres no one who ever run something/anything that didnt nick at least 1 or 2 ideas of someone else.

BEN LOST whilst a good vuzz booking was playing ahead,so they had the idea b4 vuzz.

I dont know why people keep making out that they are doing something groundbreaking.

NEWCASTLE is a beer fueled city and dont have enough feeder cities near by to make it as varied /successful as say brum , sheffield leeds etc. on the serious club front

up here a lot of people view a good night out as,

getting mortal in the big market til 10/11 then stagger to club playing dj's they heard on radio 1 for 1130 , have a bit dance til 130 then nick off for a kebab and if they are really lucky they may have pulled someone who looks half decent in the morning

as long as vuzz is pulling in 75 - 125 punters when it runs for a lesser but very good name that would be a success imo.

better having that than 200 people listening to rubbish music.

depends on whether you view big numbers = success.

a night can still be a success even if it dont get hundreds throught the door.

Remember dance culture didnt start off with thousands in arena style set ups!

and as for desyn, good gig but as has been said before and will be said again lets see where they are in 2 years time. 1gig dont change the world and WHQ are wolves in sheeps clothing

because the feedback i get off people who view this message board is that you are maquearding as doing something different which yu aint.

you seem to equate succes with numbers as well , which it aint.

as an aside a full club with dave pearce wouldnt be my idea of success.

from the sounds of it Golden scan at mono was alreet. if you'd had 100 punters in the cottage or fidla for golden scan it would have looked rammed.

And do you always listen to the half-wits on this board??

Most of them haven't got a clue to be fair!!

Out of 8 months of line-ups 90% of the DJ's we've booked have NEVER played in Newcastle before. Some of them rarely play in the UK. Better than booking the same old names who play at every night in Newcastle week in week out I'd say...

But in all fairness you are entitled to your opinion as is everyone else. It doesn't mean I have to agree with it tho!

Paul and Scott are booking DJs that people want to see! instead of the Dave Pearces, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes etc who are on at Promise every couple of months!

    Isnt that something different?

It was the first time he'd ever played in Newcastle.

As is the case with most of the DJ's we book.

Paul, man! keep your hair on.

we dont listen to the half wits on here. Ever crossed your mind that theres a lot more of the people who view on here but never post who have a better more informed opinion.

VUZZ is good. just some of the people associated with you seem to think numbers = success.

the tuxedo is gash but doing a party on a river cruiser that actually goes somewhere in a city that never does nowt (durham)
with local talent that doesnt play at a lot of other nights is alreet in my book.

just keep checking the whats on bonny lad!??

by the way , surely you are not so misinformed to realise that for a good 2 years YOU and your predecessors were putting all the same local dj's on at VUZZ.

Why dont this thread just get parked and we''ll dig it up in a years time and then you'll have the answers to whether what you are doing is heading in the direction you want it to and whther trance is really alive or well.
