Australia - Anyone been? Im thinking of going to australia this year... after seeing 'top 20 places to live in the sun' last night..... I have to see what all the fuss is about. Anyone ever lived/been/travelled there? Whats it like?!?!?
we handle the australian tourist board here and get loads of amazing images and videos... makes me wana go everytime i open em... wudnt go diving in the water tho.. the shark death numbers dont add up :secret:
i was there for 6 weeks in the summer. its fuckin class. had the best time ever just travelling round with 4/5 other peeps. went from adelaide to cape tribulation, stopping in melbourne, canberra (boring- nowt there) sydney - class city wish we had stayed longer - and then up the east coast via a bus pass that got absolutley ragged. some long bus jouirneys though, 15 hour one was well harsh. particular favourites were fraser island (u have to go there - an unspoilt natural sand island where you can only drive on the beach!!) sydney and cape tribulation (right up in the north - tropical beaches and crocs!!) and byron bay is sweet too! you need a lot longer than 6 weeks tho, we had a very whistle-stop tour. missed out so much
As part of our world trip, me and my girlfriend lived there for 9 months in 2002. Flew to Cairns, had a month there, then drove down east coast in a camper van to Sydney, stopping where we felt like. Wicked. Got jobs in Sydney lived there for about 4 months then moved to Melbourne and again got jobs and lived there for the remainding time. Its a great country. Nice down to earth people. Melbourne was my fav place by a mile. People sound. Sydney bit too much.... Met some great people, had some wicked days/nights out. Gatercrasher Festival, Big Day Out, Mobile Home on Bondi for NYE..... Anyone who get the chance - do it!
I prefer getting on Australians tits. Can't wait til I'm a legal resident of Oz, only thing I'm not looking forward to is extortionately priced Jimmy Hills
What an amazing country! I've been twice before and i'm off there again this September to suprise my Gran on her 80th! I stopped at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, a good sized city with plenty to do. Half an hour inland and you're into beautiful countryside. 1hr flying north and you have the Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands. 2hrs driving south and you reach Byron Bay, a very relaxed town :chill: and an amazing place to do a bit of skydiving! Australia has it all. Wherever you end up, you won't be dissapointed.
my mate live din sydney for a year & travelled up the coast to queensland from there! also in japan i met an aussie couple from the gold coast
