If they're pests and need to be killed then fine, find a less cruel way to do it, we can put men on the moon so shouldn't be too hard to work out a better way than chasing it round the countryside on horseback and tearing it to bits with a pack of dogs.

As it is it's cruelty for the sake of fun.

And t's not a class thing it's a humanitarian thing.

But I'm just a towny so what do I know  :p

To be fair animals get ripped to shreads all the time when they are hunted by other animals, it's just nature and how it works, survival of the fittest, hunting foxes is just humans being the fittest, we've been doing it since time began nothing wrong with it in my opinion.

Who is going to pay for all of these so called jobs that people could get? Yes, transport links could be improved, but then everyone could complain that either ticket prices had gone up or taxes had gone up. Tailors could make clothes for people? Who would wear them, who can afford tailor made clothes? And more people needed to make dog food for the hounds - the hounds would mostly be put down for god's sake!

Personally I am anti-hunt for moral reasons, but think that the economic issues need to be thought out much more. If this was any other industry being shut down, those employed within it would receive redundancy etc. Simply saying you can't do it any more will leave a vast amount of people unemployed, small countryside villages will decline, god knows how many dogs will be destroyed etc. The whole thing needs a lot more thought and consideration than a simple ban.

Crap argument. This is turning into a class issue, which is absolute bollocks. The vast majority of people involved in hunting (and not just participating in the actual hunt) are not 'posh snobby wankers', but local villagers who look after the hounds etc. Anyway, so what if they were? Should we ban something because we don't like the class of people involved? Would 'posh snobby wankers' call for a ban on so-called working class sports like greyhound racing?

I dont have a problem with the fox being killed just the method.

Also they ain't killing the fox because it eats there livestock either, they kill it because they LIKE TO GO HUNTING!!!!

Britain shouldn't even have a farm industry, so let their overpriced, undernourished crops get ravaged, as far as i could care.
