anyone else get the letter from telewest saying they've upgraded you to 1Mbs for free yes faster internet.

I wish sodding BT would give some free upgrades the money grabbing gits.

What did you go on bt for there wank you even have a download limit of 1Gb per month with BT.

Thats the second time this year telewest have uprgraded us for free, first it was from 512 to 750 now 750 to 1Mbs.

its 1gb a month on their basic service.

AFAIK I have no limit, altho a 1gb/day limit is apparently being imposed early next year.

BT arn't wank, most of the main ADSL providers impose limits to make people want to upgrade their internet, I am already on BT's top home package so I don't get any grief.

Their service, in my experience, is spot on.

maybe, but you don't get free upgrades, the thing is aswell the more people go on the internet the slower it gets so while my internet connection get faster yours is probably getting slower all the time.

They keep up with demand.

I could run a speed benchmark now and it will be exactly the same as its always been.

I also only pay £25 a month for a megabit service!

how do you do that then wouldn't mind trying that here

Thats actually better than it was when i first got it....

Make sure you are using NOTHING that consumes bandwith, just use your internet browser for most accurate results.

Bit faster on the download but my upload was only about 190Kbps and that was actual.

Gonna check mine when i get in, once i have fed the hamsters and that to power the fucker up !

I might one day eventually get internet on me new PC - even more so with a 193 GB now HD at the ready

I'll bet Lee Fosters probably got 3Mbps now though so he'll be fastest.

Aye, cable equivalents are always a few kbs faster than ADSL.

Im currently on BY 1.5mb, cant quite justify getting the 3mb service for an extra £15 a month, soon to be 4mb service though.

edit: I did have msn and IE open when i done this test, cant imagine they used too much bandwidth.
