While Si is right.....you just need to open the tools menu (or maybe its options) and just find sounds and turn em off

Mainly cos the software provided worms it's way into everything it fucking can, it's not often compatible with many modem/NIC drivers, it's expensive, it's american ( ), and that bird on the adverts really does my hairy tits in.

foolish boy. i'm sure as a provider - they're canny - just their disks, or as they're called in the trade VIRUS INFESTED EXCUSES FOR SOFTWARE installs itself everywhere, coping itself into every nook and cranny of your pc.....forever to be there until it's reformatted....:p

    AOHELL more like ... !!!

I used them for over 2years then moved house. I decided to stick with them @ the new address, what a mistake due to the fact I took my old telephone number with me. This caused a problem cos I was told that my account was still activated @ the old address and it couldn’t be activated @ the new address.

SO HARD IN THIS DAY & AGE ... ?

In the end I decided to migrate to BT but AOHELL didn't allow its customers to migrate. So in the end I said terminate my account then I can move to BT. 3 MONTH LATER and after endless calls to AOHELL and my account still hadn't been terminated with them, all due to computers. NEVER A REAL PERSON.

So I couldn’t get back onto a ADSL connection. So I was stuck on fuckin' dial up. At this point I had learnt that AOHELL and all other isp's don’t supply us our connection they in turn buy it from BT WHOLESALE then sell it to us the customer. So I tried to get in touch with BT Wholesale, but we the customer cant due too the fact they only deal with BUSINESS'S. In the end it took over 4 MONTH to change ISP’s ...

SO THIS IS WHY I FUCKIN' HATE .... AOHELL

I recently cancelled my AOL account. I phoned up. Told them I wanted to cancel. They said "OK" and cancelled it.

I find AOL customer service excellent

And although there are many haters of AOL, it's really not as bad as you think! Though I don't think I'll go back to them, because others are better (but I'm not saying AOL is bad!) :D

Recently i consider changeing from bt to aol for a 2 mb connection, they told me that i would be without and internet connection for anything up to 30 days, ARE THEY FOR REAL!!!????

is it just me, or could nobody else survive without the net for that long??

p.s. any disk that when u stick it in ur pc asks you for your credit card details should be banned, or snapped before it gets near your pc:lol:

You have to cancel direct debits at both ends - both with the company and with the bank, if you forget to tell the bank they'll carry on paying it... Best speaking to them and speaking to bank - kick up shit when you call AOL though, and ask to speak to as many managers as possible

aol is the largest pile of wank in the universe. install it once, it NEVER EVER EVER leaves your computer, you will find traces of it everywhere which takes a fooking age to clean up.

    It has shit browser facilities,
its american (im not even giving the yankee fucks a capital letter there)
    it takes ages to load
    it is hard to use
it has a garish colour scheme
    highly uncustomisable

and the whole bank thing - sometimes for security they take your bank card number as well as your sort code and account number, and because they are evil fucks will never ever ever ever ever cancel it what you have to do in this case, is cancel your debit card so you have a new number. this is the onnly way round it. i used to get millions of people phoning up at tsb as AOL were taking money from thier debit cards.

when you get your new card, the old card will have been cancelled, stopping AOHELL from taking any more money.

they are sooooooooooo shit i wouldnt wish them on my worst enemy!

    winner

they are total fuckwits like :(

and don't let any company do that to you again, if they arent satisfird with the details of your bank to set up a dd - dont do business with them unless its a part of your contract and your happy with it :)
