Is it just me or does anyone else wonder how they got a record contract? Cant quite decide what to think of them ...

Thought his first album was quite groundbreaking commercially - So i'd say that was a classic.

The second one is too much 'more of the same' for me, and the fact its very much a story from the first track to the end , makes it a bit hard for me to just pick up and listen. I dont think its anything special.

He's (Mike skinner) a poet rather than a singer.

There was an article in the tabliods saying they are making a film called Chav, and hes going to be the main character. Its probably bullshit like.

I like the streets, took me awhile to get into the first album, as i was like everyone else thinking whats this shite? once i had a proper listen thought the first album was class. really like the second one aswell especillay the way it was done with a story all the way through made me listen all the way, rather than the usual of just listening to 3/4 songs on an album

I have to say i think the first album is a classic, like Brid said it was ground breaking commercially, there was nothing out there like it, not too sure about the second one tho!!

Original Pirate Material was genius.....the next two albums progressively worse.....but still a million times better than 99.5% of the pop toss we are subjected to in the charts.
