I'm going to the Marriott hotel in Durham for lunch...think its possibly the week before crimbo. Been there the past few years now and its been spot on every time.

I'm probably one of the few people who really does enjoy works christmas do's. Really looking forward to it already. Pretty big group of us, say 40 or so, but all of different ages starting from around 20 and going up to 60+. The banter is usually good and its great seeing how some people are away from work...I'm usually not in any state to comment though.

I never went to one the whole time I worked at Safeway (4 years) and then decided to go to it last year as a guest! We went in a bar before the meal and I failed to notice it was triples for singles, so necked 9 shots of vodka inside an hour, walked to the hotel where the do was, realised I was pissed, ate lots of bread to try and compensate, then danced like a loony and told all my ex- coworkers what I thought of them. I'm not going to this years.

The atomosphere is so bad at my work, and there is such a mutual lack of respect between the directors and the shop-floor staff, that no one off the shop floor (apart from the odd fucking lickyarse) is going to our xmas party
